What Students will be Learning

Students are provided the opportunity to learn in a semi-private classroom setting, Limit 4 students per class. All materials used in studio are non toxic. The small class setting enables students to receive personalized semi tutoring with one on one guidance with each stage of the drawing and painting process.

 

Instruction covers all subjects: Still life, landscape, seascapes, animals, portraiture and figure.

While students pursue their own projects, they will be assisted in their journey,with instruction touching on various past and present artists and their techniques.

 

Please note following requirements for study of portraiture and the figure

1) Portraits and figure only taught at 3rd Level. 

2) Student must demonstrate competent drawing skills 

3) Painting this genre only taught with, graphite, charcoals or chalk pastels. 

 

Student Level Advancement:

During the process of learning, as students progress to their next skill level, they can maintain enrollment in their current day and class time.

Students will then be tutored individually at their new skill level.

Level 1: Intro to Acrylic Painting / Beginner

( Limit 4 students per class) 

This class is designed for the novice beginner wanting to get started with learning how to paint or the student looking to brush up on the basics.

All students will work collectively on a chosen subject by the instructor.

Painting with water based acrylic paint, class course will cover all the basics to begin learning how to use artist materials, construct a painting, color mixing, color theory and various acrylic painting techniques.

Time: ( 90 min per week )

Tuesday 1:30 - 3:00 pm

or

Wednesday 1:00 - 2:30pm

Price: $130 ( materials not included)

added materials $30

Level 2: Painting / Drawing

( Limit 4 students per class) 

The class is designed for students who have just started learning to paint, and or draw and would like to grow in their knowledge and skills. Students will be tutored individually while working independently at their pace on their own chosen projects.

Times:

Wednesday 3:00 - 4:30 pm 

or

Thursday 3:00 - 4:30 pm 

Cost: 4 weeks/  $130 

       materials not included

       added materials $30

       (all prices include hst)

 

Level 3: Painting / Drawing

(Limit 4 students per class) 

The class is designed for students who have drawing and or painting experience and would like to further their knowledge and skills. Students will be tutored individually while working independently on their own chosen subject.

Time: Thursday 1:00 - 3:00 pm  

Cost: 4 weeks/ $140 (hst incl in price )

       materials not included

Please note: Spaces for new enrollment each year Sept-June, for all levels are limited due to majority of students who maintain a steady enrollment.
